Intersection of Inclusion

Four artists representing diverse races and ethnicities, each with distinct artistic styles ranging from realism to abstract art, were selected to beautify the “Intersection of Inclusion” at Riverhills and 56th in Temple Terrace. 

The murals, commissioned by the Temple Terrace Arts Council, were funded by a Hillsborough County Community Arts Impact grant.

This project highlights the unique assets of the Temple Terrace community and inspires viewers to embrace and appreciate the diversity, cultures, styles, and subject matter. Artists were asked to incorporate subject matter from the stunning array of local flora for which the community is well known.  

Carlos Culberston painted a homage to the stunning trees of Temple Terrace.

Ameena Khan painted a mural of a yellow lotus and lilies seen on the nearby Hillsborough River.

Mike Knapp painted a large realistic temple orange.

Mural artist Roseliza Nheik revamped one corner with brilliant bromeliads and birds of paradise. 

Creating these murals was also reported by the Tampa Bay Times and St. Petersburg Times.
